spring / summer trends 2023

Welcome back, guys!

I just realize that it has been almost three months since I published my last blog entry. Where have I been? Quite simply, I was stuck between exams and work. And the grey and cloudy months didn’t give me any inspiration, to be honest. But now after some time off, I’m back with new motivation and visions for this year.

What better timing could there be than the fashion weeks right now? At least my social media is completely drowning with fashion and fashion week content. So I thought: why not take the opportunity and talk about the spring and summer trends of 2023?
I have seen amazing runway shows and clothes for this year. A little side fact, one day I would love to go to a fashion week and see all the magic happen in real life. Anyways let’s get into it.

DENIM DENIM DENIM

Maybe you have already seen the amazing denim outfits. There is no question: it’s THE spring/summer trend for this year.
Not just one piece of denim. Literally from head to toe. From skirts to trenchcoats. Denim is all over the place.
The biggest designers have shown iconic denim styles including diesel or jacquemus. Clearly, you don’t have to wear exactly these designer pieces. I guess everyone has denim jeans at home and maybe also a denim jacket. Instead, you can combine these denim pieces for example with a basic white shirt. Or as this year’s fashion weeks presented; we show more skin. So instead of a shirt, you can button up the jacket in the middle with nothing underneath. That would be a bold way to wear denim.

Oversized Leatherjacket

In the past months, oversized leather jackets peaked immensely and we’ve already seen many ways of wearing them. The designers are remixing oversized leather jackets in a completely new way. You can not only get cool designer pieces but also iconic vintage leather jackets for a lot less money. There are many different ways to style them: 1. Casual Sunday Look: with a pair of jeans and a basic white shirt. 2. Cool Office Look: as spring comes around you can style that look with a maxi skirt, casual blouse, sunglasses and obviously an oversized leather jacket. 3. Friday Night Look: the little black dress, boots and your favorite bag.

Transparent

Skin, skin and skin. This spring and summer it’s all about showing more skin than usual. Whether that might be a long sleeve, skirt, pants or dress. These see-through pieces spice up your outfit and give it an extra touch. And there are so many ways to wear them. If it‘s still a little bit chilly outside you can wear a transparent long-sleeve with a bralette underneath and combine it with your favorite pair of jeans. As Jacquemus shows on its spring/summer runway it‘s the perfect beach and a summer go-to trend. See-through dresses with a bikini underneath are definitely the beach vibe this year. Transparent pieces not only give me summer vibes but also Friday evening vibes. Black pants, boots or even heels with a shiny transparent long-sleeve.

Bomber jacket

You look bomb. Bomber jackets are already back but this season in a less in-your-face version. The leather bomber has its peak and this is thankful to Copenhagen Fashion Week. Serious brands like Ganni or Louis Vuitton are showing them too. Oversized bomber jackets let feel everything cooler. The way to style bomber jackets: A bomber jacket can go with everything! Whether that be jeans with a simple shirt or a mini skirt with your favorite boots. You not only can throw it on your daily outfit but also for dinner and drinks. Take your favorite dress and heels with a bomber jacket on top and off you go!

Extraordinary looks dominated the spring runways from designers like Gucci and Versace.

SILVER

SHINY! This year we love shiny clothes. No matter that be glitter or silver. I have already seen this year so many clothes that have a touch of space. Have you seen the viral silver pants? They are iconic! But still reminds me of an astronaut or walking aluminium foil – not in a bad way. This year it is „Silver is the new black”.
Extraordinary looks dominated the spring runways from designers like Gucci and Versace. But you don’t have to go all silver!
There are many ways of wearing that metallic look more simple. One way you can style your outfit with one metallic/silver piece and pair it with simple colors like navy, black or white. Another way could be to set silver accents in your outfit, this means not only metallic clothes are trendy but accessories like bags, earrings and necklaces.

Are you ready for spring? I actually can’t wait..

I hope you get a little inspiration for your spring and summer outfits. If you have any questions or feedback just let me know!
